Jacob is a second generation Yoga teacher to B.K.S Iyengar as he have been a student of Senior Iyengar Yoga teacher Ali Dashti for more than ten years.

Ali Dashti is a first generation apprentice of B.K.S. Iyengar and Geeta Iyengar and an instructor at the Iyengar Institute (RIYMI) since 1986.

This direct apprenticeship under Ali is the depth of detail, art of seeing, and intensity Jacob brings to private coaching, classes and workshops. Jacob is also a certified physiotherapist with advanced studies in sports medicine.

Beginner or advanced?

Whether you are a beginner or an advanced student, Jacob meets all  of his students where they are, and brings to classes his extensive experience in the art of Yoga.

Jacobs teaching focus on attention to alignment, technique, breath and  sequences. An important aspect is the use of props such as: bolsters, chairs,  belts and blocks, to assist students to improve the anatomical alignment in the Asanas, and to  deepen the practice.

The proper use of props and eye for details and sequencing enables Jacob’s students to dramatically  improve the alignment of Yoga poses to provide a strong foundation for physical and psychological stability, or to treat various conditions or illnesses.

The therapeutic and meditative system Jacob teaches is continually  and gradually progressive, involving physical poses, breath control, and sequences that are specifically designed to  cultivate different bodily systems. In the therapeutic Yoga Jacob integrates his knowledge as a physiotherapist and the knowledge gained through studies under his Yoga teachers.

Jacob teaches in Umeå, Sweden.

About Jacob

Jacob started practicing Yoga at the age of nineteen. Before discovering Yoga he practiced different martial arts and did strength training. The study of Yoga lead Jacob on a path of deepening his understanding of the human experience with a focus on physical movement and the relationship between the body and mind.

This quest has lead to studies in many areas such as physiotherapy, and sports medicine but also a broad interest in different movement systems and sports.

When not practicing or teaching Jacob enjoys to spend time with his family, be in nature, build stuff and to work at his farm int the north of Sweden where he grows organic vegetables.
